L’Oreal’s Panoramic Mascara Review: A Minimalist’s Find

So, how exactly is my minimalism, decluttering make-up project going?  Confession:  I had a slip this week and, guess what…I’m not sorry.  I went to Target to pick up a few things.  That little voice in my head snuck in:    “Go see what’s new.  Get your steps in.  It doesn’t hurt to look.  Anyway, you have plenty of make-up at home,  I doubt you’ll get anything.”  Then that evil voice keeps talking:  “What’s this?  That looks interesting.  Kendall Jenner likes it.  Maybe I should try it.  What’s $12.99 anyway?  I deserve a reward.”  So, that’s how L’Oreal’s Panoramic Mascara seemed to just jump in my shopping cart…..to paraphrase L’Oreal’s catch phrase, this L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Panorama Mascara? – – “She’s worth it.”  https://amzn.to/3UjfK3A

The Wand:

Personally, I go for length over volume….;) ba dum dum.  But if you are someone who loves thickness, clumpy fiber brushes, this one might not be for you.  The Panorama’s silicone molded brush easily lengthened, lifted and separated my lashes.   Because it’s slightly flexible/average in size, it made it easy to get into my corners with less error.  I started at the root of my lashes, rubbing back and forth a few times to get started, then wanding out for the best results.

Length:

L’Oreal promises a panoramic look 1.4x in size.  I’d say it definitely delivers that.  Also, since I’m a Latisse user and am fair, I rarely get the same satisfaction people with dark lashes see using Latisse.   To be able to see my lashes pop out like that was super rewarding and makes me want to stick with my Latisse regimen!

Clumping/Smudge Factor:

Okay, no exaggeration.  None.  It does also feel truly weightless, like nothing is on your lashes.  It’s almost weirdly weightless.  They say no smudge or flakes for 24 hours.  I didn’t check that out, cause I wash off my make-up at night.  But, it did deliver all day, without any fall out.  Leaves you wondering what they put in this formula to make it do that and if it’s hard to take off.  Right?

Removal:

I’d say removal fell somewhere between a regular and water-proof mascara to remove.  Initially I was a little worried cause I hate rough removal as it promotes wrinkles.  But, if you sort of soak your eyes with a cotton pad/wash clothes for a few seconds before rubbing, the product starts to dissolve.  If you don’t rush to rub, it comes off fairly easy.  BTW, my go to product for make-up removal for aging skin is: Neutrogena Make-up Removal Wipes.  https://amzn.to/3UkQ5ay    If you are concerned about wrinkles around your eyes, this is a must have product!

What I loved most:

In general, I have a love hate relationship with mascara.  About 95% of all mascaras leave me with watery irritate red eyes.  I’m so sensitive to chemical smells and perfumes, that within minutes of exposure, I’m stuffy nosed and itchy eyed.  Often the make-up application that took me 20 minutes to apply is ruined by my rubbing.   L’Oreal say’s its  opthalmogist-tested.  They advertised it as “suitable for sensitive eyes.”  Try it yourself, but for me, it was non-irritating.  Less rubbing = less wrinkles!!!

My Little Hint:

With aging and increasingly poor eyesight, I find applying make-up harder than years before.  I’m more prone to mistakes and that frustrates the heck out of me!  Anything I can do to make the process more fool proof the better.  I’ve found if I do everything but apply my mascara, then use a setting spray, with the final step my mascara, the mascara tends to perform better throughout the day.

In closing, this drug store mascara is definitely worth the impulse buy!  My decluttering goal tally?  Because I added one product to my collection, I promise this month to inventory my mascara collection and throw out any that are old or dried up/didn’t work well.  If it’s time to buy, you might want to give this one a try cause it definitely does what it ways it does.

Much love,

Mrs. Sassy Pants
